Reiki with Katie Daly
Katie Daly is a Reiki Master practitioner and teacher, who has studied with Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki. She had created a website several years ago when she opened the practice, but it was outdated and no longer showed her business accurately. She wanted to have me create something new on Squarespace, with new colors and branding that highlighted the workshops and training classes she now offers. She plans to update the website herself to announce upcoming events.
Website branding and goals
In her onboarding questionnaire, Katie expressed that she wanted her website to convey her brand as:
Professional • Compassionate • Comforting • Relaxed
And she wanted potential clients to feel reassured and excited by her website and the services she has to offer.
Website design board
Katie expressed a preference for restful colors. I chose a selection of photos to get a sense of the kinds of photos she preferred and we chose this sand and sky photo for the Home page. The main website colors are echoed in this photo and the complementary colors bring some depth and the joyful feeling that is embedded in Katie’s tagline.

Add-on: Squarespace Campaigns, a separate email marketing platform that connects easily to the website for consistent branding
Custom images
Katie’s former website didn’t have a logo, so I created a horizontal logo to use at the top of the website and a square arrangement for the mobile version. I also carried the joyful tagline into other places on the website. The logo fonts use Zapfino Regular for the script and Baskerville for the text. I also made some branded social media banners for her to refresh her LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
